Using CaptionOnReel

CaptionOnReel is a free tool for adding captions to your videos. You can use it for personal and commercial videos. There is no account to create.

Your videos and captions

• You keep all rights to the videos you add and the captioned videos you make. We don't add a watermark.
• Your videos are processed on your own device. We never receive them.
• Only add videos you have the right to use, and you are responsible for what you publish.
• The caption fonts are open-licensed, so you can use them in videos you post or sell.

Automatic captions can have mistakes

The words in your video are found automatically, and some may be wrong or slightly mistimed. Please check your captions before you post, especially names, numbers and anything important.

Fair use of the site

Don't use CaptionOnReel to break the law or to harm other people, and don't try to disrupt the site or the services it relies on.

Services we rely on

The speech-to-text models are downloaded by your browser from Hugging Face. We count anonymous usage with PostHog, as described on the privacy page.

No guarantees

CaptionOnReel is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it working well, but we can't promise it will always be available or work with every video, device or browser. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using it. Keep your original video, since the tool only ever makes a new copy.

Changes

We may update these terms as the tool changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
